The Warsaw Uprising Museum Is Using VR To Put People In WWII

One of the world’s most comprehensive World War II museums is using VR to bring its visitors a bit closer to its subject matter.

The Warsaw Uprising Museum in Poland’s capital, which is dedicated to the 1944 conflict of the same name, recently added a new VR installation simply named Scenes From World War II. In it, visitors are transported to the war-torn streets of Warsaw for an atmospheric experience that they won’t soon forget. Using a HTC Vive, users explore several scenes, activating sequences with gaze-based interaction.

You can check it out in the trailer below.

It looks like a pretty intense experience and a great example of how VR can be used to teleport us back to historical moments. The piece was developed by 4Experience but, sadly, there’s no plans for a release outright of the museum just yet.
