How about this for good sportsmanship; three years on from launch and PSVR’s Headmaster just got a big update.
Frame Interactive’s entertaining VR sports title was one of PSVR’s most curious games back at launch. It had you using the headset’s positional tracking to hit balls with your head. True, it sounds a little shallow, but the game was packed with features and style. That was also the case with the eventual PC VR release, which included new features.
Many of those features come to PSVR in this update. Chief among them is a Practice Mode accessed from the main story. As the name suggests it allows you to fine tune your skills before putting them to the test. There’s also the ability to play the game’s party mode with just one person and there’s a fix for a bug that, somehow, got PS4s to enter rest mode.
The patch isn’t just for PSVR, though. The PC version of Headmaster also gets the update. Frame explained that much of the update is about implementing a newer version of the game’s engine. In the process, though, it’s fixed plenty more bugs. You can read about them in this changelog.
Frame’s sudden update reminds us that we haven’t seen a new game from the developer in quite some time now. Over in a Reddit thread, the studio said to keep an eye out for more news soon.
If you haven’t tried out Headmaster itself, though, we fully recommend you make the trip. Let us know what you thought of it in the comments below.
