Looking for the new VR games November 2021 list? We’ve got you covered with our full rundown.

The holiday season is upon us once more and we’ve got a lot of new VR releases competing for space under your virtual tree next month. From the surprise release of a PC VR classic on Quest to the return of the Warhammer franchise, there’s a lot to talk about. So let’s dig in.

As always, you’ll find most of these titles on the Quest, Steam and PSVR stores.

New VR Games November 2021

Free PS Plus Games (November 2) – PSVR

First up, PlayStation fans, don’t miss the three free PSVR games being added to PS Plus tomorrow. They include The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, The Persistence and Until You Fall, three of the best games on the system. What a way to celebrate your fifth birthday, PSVR.

HTC Vive Flow (Early November)

Also arriving early this month is the HTC Vive Flow, HTC’s new slim headset designed for watching video content and using some less demanding VR games and apps. The headset looks like a pair of glasses and pairs with your phone as a means of control and to access apps like YouTube and Netflix.

In Death: Unchained Desolation Update (November 3) – Quest

In Death Unchained Update

Excellent VR roguelite In Death: Unchained gets its next major update adding an all-new world to the experience. Expect new arrow and enemy types as well as further improved visuals for one of Quest’s best games.

Ancient Dungeon (November 3) – Quest via App Lab, PC VR Early Access

Physics-driven, retro-inspired dungeon crawling gets an early access release. Ancient Dungeon will have you tackling runs of a randomized dungeon, defeating enemies with melee combat and unlocking better loot. We’ve enjoyed previous hands-on sessions with the game and are looking forward to more.

Forest Farm (November 3) – Quest via App Lab, PC VR

Stardew Valley meets VR in this relaxing farming sim. Grow crops, tend to animals and then earn money by selling them so you can buy better tools and equipment to take your land even further.

Blade & Sorcery: Nomad – (November 4) – Quest 2

VR’s bloodiest battle simulator finally gets an Oculus Quest 2 release. Nomad is a new version of the game for standalone VR that still aims to include as many features from the PC version as possible. So you’ll still get stabby physics and the game’s new dungeons mode, with more to come post-launch.

Real VR Fishing Year 2 Update (November 6) – Quest, PC VR

Real VR Fishing

It’s another year for VR’s best fishing game, which means tons of new features and improvements as part of the year two update. That includes a reworked in-game store, better tutorial and more.

Captain Toonhead vs The Punks From Outer Space – (November 11) – Quest, PC VR

A whacky and polished tower defense game in which players defend the galaxy from a deadly gang of punks. Strategically place towers and even control them from a first-person perspective in the story-driven single-player campaign.

Gravitational (November 11) – PC VR, PSVR

A new VR puzzle game that plays with gravity, Gravitational casts you as Sebastian, a physically challenged scientist that must make a dangerous journey through the path of a faulty reactor when his experiments go wrong. Expect zero-gravity locomotion and object manipulation to help you carve a path forward.

ShapesXR – (November 11) – Quest

The team behind Tvori is releasing this new VR prototyping app that lets multiple users meet up in VR to collaborate on product designs and more.

Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Tempestfall – (November 17) – PC VR

The Wizards developer Carbon Studio returns with this new Warhammer VR game. Set in the Age of Sigmar universe, you’ll wield legendary weapons as you take the fight to the ghostly Nighthaunt. The PC VR version is arriving first, with an Oculus Quest port expected later down the line.

Topgolf with Pro Putt – Full Course Update (November 18) – Quest 2

After focusing on putting at launch, Topgolf is finally getting full swing courses later this month. You’ll get a brand new Cliffs course for free with another level arriving as DLC. Plus there’s a new social clubhouse.

‘Blade & Sorcery: Nomad’ Coming Exclusively to Quest 2 November 4th

https://ift.tt/2SJa1Sb

A sperate, standalone version of the PC VR combat sandbox Blade & Sorcery is going to bring its physics-based carnage to Quest 2 on November 4th.

Blade & Sorcery is widely regarded as the premier combat sandbox for SteamVR headsets, letting players take on hordes of realistic combat dummies with a variety of medieval weaponry, such as swords, daggers, axes, maces, and more.

Called Blade & Sorcery: Nomad, the Quest 2 version of the game will have “almost all of the features and content of the PCVR game version U10 Dungeons Update,” developing studio Warpfrog say.

The PC VR’s U10 Dungeon update arrived in late October, expanding beyond the game’s sandbox roots and introducing a more linear experience with procedurally generated dungeons for players to crawl and fight through. Take a look at U10 in action below:

The studio says it’s trying to make Blade & Sorcery: Nomad “as close to the PCVR version as humanly possible,” arriving with “just about everything the PCVR game has.” Like the PC VR title, the Quest 2 version will allow for third-party mods so you can do things like fight with your favorite weapons, such as lightsabers, modern military weapons, and create extra opportunities for blood and gore.

Warpfrog says the reason for creating the version specifically for Quest 2 was based around the decision to not intentionally reduce the PC VR version’s quality in order to force Blade & Sorcery to work on the standalone headset.

“Similarly, we wanted to distinguish they are separate titles so that we can reserve the right to steam ahead with PCVR development without restriction,” says Warpfrog. “If they were the same title, then the PCVR version would be limited in scope by the Quest 2 capabilities, and we didn’t want that. Instead, we prefer to make exactly the PCVR game we want to, and then optimize things for Nomad and/or omit anything that is not yet possible for the Quest 2 tech-wise.”

Blade & Sorcery: Nomad is landing exclusively on Quest 2 on November 4th, priced at $20.

GTA: San Andreas VR Is Developed By LA Noire VR Studio, Hiring For Multiple Projects

https://ift.tt/eA8V8J

The upcoming VR version of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for Oculus Quest 2 is being at least partially developed by the studio that teased a AAA Rockstar VR game in mid-2020.

In July of last year Video Games Deluxe, the developer of the LA Noire: The VR Case Files port for PC VR and PSVR, stated it was “gearing up for a new project, a AAA open world title in VR for Rockstar.” At the time just about everyone speculated as to what this could be, with suggestions ranging from ports of the studio’s biggest games to all new titles set within iconic franchises.

GTA: San Andreas VR Developer Revealed

In a new LinkedIn message posted today, though, Video Games Deluxe confirmed that this new version of San Andreas is at least one of the projects it’s been working on. “As announced at the Facebook Connect event we are beavering away on one of the world’s best loved games for VR,” the post reads. “We are heavily recruiting for this and other projects.”

The developer is encouraging anyone interested in joining the studio in Sydney to reach out. It’s not clear if Video Games Deluxe is the only developer behind this upcoming port, nor if San Andreas VR is definitely the exact AAA VR title the studio teased last year. Given that the studio says it was “purpose built for VR”, it’s reasonable to assume its other projects are for headsets too. Feel free to keep speculating, then.

We’ll likely see more of GTA: San Andreas VR at the Oculus Gaming Showcase next year.

Unplugged Patch Unlocks All Songs, Revamps Progression

https://ift.tt/3GAcRm9

All of Unplugged’s songs are now unlocked and available from the start of the game, removing the progression system that the game launched with. A new system replaces it that sees players completing challenges to unlock new venues instead of songs.

Unplugged is one of the biggest and most technologically ambitious Quest games to release this year. In my review, I came to the conclusion that the hand tracking technology was, for the most part, up to the challenge, but only once you had spent some decent time understanding the conditions in which it operated best.

At launch, Unplugged’s fantastic tracklist was used as the main incentive for progression — you started with just one ‘record’ (the game’s name for a collection of 5 songs) and completed challenges for each record that allow you to unlock more records/songs gradually.

However, many players – including myself – encountered some difficulty with the challenges as the complexity of the songs ramped up, making the game feel quite challenging, frustrating and for some, not possible within the constraints of the hand tracking technology, especially when trying to unlock the final record.

Some players also expressed disappointment that not all songs were available from the outset.

The latest Unplugged update addresses all of this in a big way. All of the songs are now fully unlocked from the beginning of the game. Instead of progression unlocking more songs, it now is linked to venues — record challenges still exist, but have been tweaked and now work towards unlocking the different venues, from small to large.

The initial system of tying venues to songs/records was a fun way to emulate the career of a rock star, but now you’ll instead be able to play any song at any venue you’ve unlocked, using a new venue selector.

There’s also been some difficulty adjustments – the percent of notes required for a gold score is now lower, and it’s harder to fail when playing on easy difficulty.

Minor bug fixes have also been made, along with volume adjustments to make some songs slightly louder. There’s also been changes to the number of fans required to unlock new guitars.

Overall, these changes seem like a step in the right direction — not only do they address concerns around the difficulty and hand tracking, but they also make all of the songs accessible to players from the get-go. That should make it easier to demo the game to new players and let people jump in with little-to-no experience.

What do you think of these Unplugged changes? Let us know in the comments.

Blade And Sorcery On Quest 2 Will Support Mods Post-Launch

https://ift.tt/eA8V8J

The Oculus Quest 2 version of Blade And Sorcery will support mods just after launch, developer Warp Frog has confirmed.

The team confirmed as much in an FAQ for the newly-announced Blade And Sorcery: Nomad, a Quest 2-exclusive edition of the game announced at Connect last week. According to the studio, modding will be included in the game but will be introduced a few weeks after its November 4 launch to make sure the game itself is running smoothly first.

Blade And Sorcery Quest 2 Mods Support Confirmed

“However, do note that Quest 2 mods will be different from PCVR mods, so you couldn’t install a made-for-PC mod in Nomad and vice versa,” the studio clarified. “That means modders would be making mods directly for Nomad, or that a PC modder would have to make a mod compatible with Nomad.”

The team does, however, say that these mods will install just as easily as they do on PC with the help of a dedicated nexusmods.com page. You also won’t be able to have as many mods active as you do in the PC VR version of the game. Nomad will also have a few other differences from the PC version of the game. The Citadel map won’t be included at launch, for example, and there are lower total enemy counts on Quest. Not every type of room from the recently-launched Dungeons mode will be included, either.

Mods have been a huge part of the Blade And Sorcery experience, with one of the most popular letting you wield a lightsaber with brutal results. Earlier this year we even saw a Shang-Chi mod that brought the film’s Ten Rings into the experience.

Blade And Sorcery: Nomad hits Oculus Quest 2 later this week for $19.99. Are you going to be picking up the game? Let us know in the comments below!

Song In The Smoke Is Coming To SteamVR Soon

https://ift.tt/eA8V8J

Excellent VR survival game, Song in the Smoke, will soon be available on more PC VR headsets via SteamVR.

17-Bit’s VR debut first launched on PSVR and Oculus Quest earlier this month. It also launched on PC, but only via the Oculus Store meaning it could only be played on Rift headsets or Quest via Link. Last week, however, the developer confirmed the game would be coming soon to Steam. No word of a release date yet, but the developer assured it won’t be too far down the line.

Song In The Smoke SteamVR Launch Incoming

The SteamVR listing also includes confirmation that the game will work natively with the HTC Vive and Valve Index headsets. No word on possible Windows VR support just yet but, given this a SteamVR release, there’s a chance it works out of the box all the same.

It’ll be great to see more people have access to Song in the Smoke – the experience is one of the best of the year. We gave the game a ‘Great’ rating when it launched last month saying: “It’s rough, yes, and some of its design ideas need a second pass. But it’s also an intoxicating trip, an experience directly connected to the beating heart of nature and acutely aware of the structure and interaction needed to make its survival gameplay work in VR.”

Are you going to be picking up The Song In The Smoke on Steam? Or are you already playing it elsewhere? Let us know in the comments below!
