Looks like HTC will be revealing several new products at the CES 2019 tech conference.
The 2019 Consumer Electronics Expo is set to kick-off this Sunday and it looks as though HTC Vive will be using the infamous Las Vegas trade show to reveal new products in its VR hardware lineup.
Earlier this morning the Taiwanese consumer electronics company posted a photo on Twitter teasing a variety of “new gear” packed neatly in travel containers bound for the Las Vegas event.
The truck is loaded and we’re excited be on our way to #CES2019. The cases are packed with some new gear we can’t wait to unbox for you. Keep tuned to @htcvive social media during CES for announcements, news and daily coverage. #HTCVIVE #VIVEPORT pic.twitter.com/lkwKE7plPw

The photo is accompanied by the following message: “The truck is loaded and we’re excited be on our way to #CES2019. The cases are packed with some new gear we can’t wait to unbox for you. Keep tuned to @htcvive social media during CES for announcements, news and daily coverage.”
While it’s unclear what exactly those boxes contain, speculation has already begun. Many believe the boxes could contain new hardware due in part to the companies use of the word “gear.”
Based on the photo it appears as though the box located towards the middle is labeled “Viveport.” More interesting, however, is the box located to the right which has had its logo intentionally blurred and cropped off frame by the company. Many online investigators claim it says “Vive Gloves,” while others believe it could actually spell “Vive Cloud.”
Could it be a new form of hand-tracking technology designed as an upgrade to the conventional Vive controllers? Perhaps it’s a new PC-based VR headset entirely. The company recently filed a trademark for something referred to as Vive Cosmos; perhaps CES 2019 will be its initial reveal?
Whatever the case, it’ll be interesting to see what HTC Vive brings to the table following the luck warm reception following the release of their Vive Pro headset.
HTC Vive will be joined at the convention by a slew of other major players within the VR/AR industry. This includes Leica Geosystems AG, Pimax Technology, ORBI Inc., and Cybershoes, along with an additional 96 VR/AR exhibitors.
