Arcade racer Touring Karts is launching December 12 on PSVR, following an earlier release on PC VR systems.
Announced earlier this year, Touring Karts VR is a new spin on classic arcade racers, with 22 racing tracks, 45 power-ups and 3o karts, playable in online and story mode.
The PC VR version of the game is already available in early access on for the Index, Rift, Vive and Windows MR platforms. The PSVR and PS4 version of Touring Karts will now be joining the fold on December 12.
Touring Karts VR supports up to 8 players online with cross-platform multiplayer, supporting both VR and non-VR systems. This means that that the PSVR version of the game will have shared multiplayer with the PC VR and the PS4 version of the game. A Nintendo Switch port is also planned for release in the future, along with support for mobile devices as well. Supporting so many platforms will definitely help with queue times and the longevity of the game’s online player base, which is a nice reassurance for those who might be hesitant to take the game for a spin.
You can play the game on PSVR with 6 different control schemes – DualShock controller, DualShock motion controllers, a steering wheel accessory, a wheel and one Move controller, 2 Move controllers or a 3dRudder foot controller with one Move controller. There are also 3 different view options for VR, including one that is “free of dizziness,” according to the developer, as well a 3rd person view and an immersive 1st person view.
Touring Karts VR is available on Steam and the Oculus Store for PC VR, and will launch for PS4 and PSVR next week on the PlayStation Store.
